Beat Poët Menswear was formed in Sydney in early 2005. Starting with a humble accessories line, there was immediate demand for a full ready-to-wear collection. In July, the studio relocated to melbourne to work on its debut collection, the spring/summer component of which was launched in April 2006. Shortly after this, the studio migrated back to Sydney to launch the autumn/winter half of the collection.The label is now permanently based in Sydney and launches a new collection of two parts each year. In April 2009, Beat Poet Menswear debuted it's first runway show, the only solo menswear show at Sydney's RAFW. In November 2009, the label won the 'Designer' catgeory of the prestigious 'GQ Man of the Year' Award. |
